Q: How far ahead do I need to book with you?
A. Since I am a one person shop and focus on only a very small amount of cakes per week, I limit the number of orders I take. The earlier you reserve your date with me, the better. Typically in busier months, I recommend four to six months in advance for wedding cakes.  Celebration cakes and cupcakes I recommend at minimum two weeks notice.   However, upon occassion I can take last minute orders if my schedule allows.  Please call 302-526-8918 to inquire about my availabililty.

Q: Do you offer desserts for individuals with dietary needs?

A:  At this time I do not offer vegan, gluten, dairy, or sugar free cakes.

Q: Do you offer sheet cakes or kitchen cakes?
A.  It has been my preference to not offer sheet cakes.  I will, however, offer kitchen cakes for wedding orders ONLY, with a 100 serving minimum.  Kitchen cakes are 2 layers of cake and 1 layer of filling, simply iced in the same color palette as your presentation cake.

Q: If I bring you a picture, can you duplicate the cake?
A. As cake artist, I respect the time and talent involved in creating custom cakes.  Therefore, I will make every effort to get the same look and feel of the picture you provide, but I will not give you an exact duplicate of the cake.

Q: Do you offer a military discount?
A. YES. I proudly offer a 10% discount off of your total cake price (excluding any delivery & set up fees), for military personnel.

Q.  If I want fresh flowers on my cake or cupcake tower, can that be arranged?
A.  I am highly knowledgeable in the delicate art of sugar flowers and believe that sugar flowers are the best option as they do not contain pesticides and can serve as a permanent keepsake to your event.  Should you desire fresh flowers on your cake, placement will be the responsibility of your florist.

Q.  Do you freeze your cakes?
A.  No.  All of my cakes are made fresh to order, completely from scratch.  NEVER frozen!

Q. Do you ship your cakes?
A. I apologize, however at this time I do not ship cakes they are too fragile!!! I will, deliver a cake by van around the tri-state area and beyond! For areas further away I can provide delivery service for an additional cost.

Q. How much do the cakes cost?
A. I do not have a general price list because each cake is one-of-a-kind. All custom cakes are priced per person. Due to the care I give to each order I must require a minimum of $6.00 per serving on all custom cakes. Final pricing is based on a number of factors, including the complexity of design, the number of people being served and cake flavor selections.
Please bear in mind that there is a 20 serving minimum on all custom cake orders.

Q. Do you have a catalog or brochure?
A. I do not have a brochure other than my web site. Each cake is custom designed so my website serves mainly as a portfolio for you to see previous work. Email or call me about your specific event and I can design an exclusive edible work of art. If you would like to be included on Patty Cakes' mailing list, you can subscribe from our home page or email me with your name, & email address.

Q. Do you make individual cakes, cupcakes and decorated cookies?
A.Patty Cakes offers cupcakes, individual cakes and hand decorated cookies.

Q. Do you offer tastings? When may I come for one?
A. Due to the busy lives of my clients and the time constraints and deadlines we face, consultations are held by appointment only. They are made during business hours, Teusday through Thursday. *Consultations are not held on Monday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I try to accommodate everyone's schedule, so contact me and I will make every reasonable effort to work within your schedule.

*Consultation Policy

Due to the fact that my hours are by appointment only, I generally allow for a window of 15 minutes past the scheduled appointment time before I consider the client a no show. Since I am a one person shop, I adhere very strictly to my schedule in order to accommodate my current orders as well as potential clients. It is the responsibility of the client to notify me if they need to cancel, reschedule, or change an appointment time.

Baking for consultations is done specifically for each client. When appointments are missed, time, materials and ingredients are lost. Due to this, it is necessary that a re-appointment fee of $25.00 be paid prior to scheduling a new appointment. The re-appointment fee is separate from any amounts due for your order.
